Dave’s Jazz Bistro is thrilled to partner with the Santa Fe Indian Market to present a powerful musical fusion that combines jazz with traditional Native American art forms. This unique collaboration features the acclaimed Shelley Morningsong, cultural artist Fabian Fontenelle, and the dynamic John Rangel Trio.

Jazz Curator John Rangel has a longstanding creative relationship with Morningsong, including producing music for the award-winning film Return – Native American Women Reclaim Foodways for Health and Spirit. He has also contributed to her albums and co-produced numerous performances with both Morningsong and Fontenelle. Shelley Morningsong (Northern Cheyenne) is a celebrated singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist. Known for her soulful vocals and evocative storytelling, her music blends jazz, blues, folk, and Native influences. A multiple Native American Music Award-winner, Morningsong’s sound is as heartfelt as it is genre-defying. Fabian Fontenelle (Zuni/Omaha) is a respected traditional dancer, storyteller, and cultural consultant. As a drummer and narrator, he brings Indigenous rhythms, chants, and ceremony to the stage, adding depth and authenticity to each performance.

We’re also honored to feature James Beard Award-winning chef Lois Ellen Frank, who will create a special menu inspired by Native culinary traditions for this unforgettable evening.
